So as with most of the products I have acquired this has a little history. The Magnat MC-1 SCAD/CD receiver was developed by Magnet Germany around 2010 I think. It was never sold in the USA, only Europe and Asia. It was unique as it had a 12AX7 preamp tube which can be seen in the small round window on the front panel - to add a tube sound. The rest was the latest technology with fluorescent display, digital controls and settings. It is a great little office or bedroom system, compact too. It has a phono input because the Europeans never totally abandoned vinyl.
So I purchased this and had it flown over - you can see the air freight labels on the outside master carton. This was another item that I never got put into use. You can still see the protective plastic I peeled back on the front panel display. So I unboxed it and tried it out - still works.
Brand new condition, but there is one issue - the remote. The remote has a soft touch finish and over the years in storage, has started to get sticky. Not sure it can be fixed so I would assume the remote would not be used which is too bad because the Magnat remotes were always well build.
Unit has a phono input and numerous aux level inputs. Built in SACD/CD player and Am/FM tuner.
One of the photos are the specs from the manual. I have a catalog sheet which I can't seem to upload as it is a PDF - happy to send to anyone.
Includes the antenna, power cord and remote.
Unit sold for 800 to 1000 euros back then, about $1500 US.
Questions for the seller |

Hello, when u say the remote is sticky do you mean in feel sticky or the buttons stick and don’t respond? Thank you The buttons are fine, it is the rear of the remote case. It was finished in the soft-touch rubber paint for a better feel and to keep it from sliding. After a long time, this puts out stick oil - I guess it is made from petroleum. I have some other products that I didn't bother listing with the same issue. The only quick cure I found was to put talc on it. |
Is this set up for us electrical or European? It is a 120V unit with a USA plug. |
