MAGNEPAN TYMPANI 1D CLASSIC AUDIOPHILE MAGNEPLANAR FLAT PANEL SPEAKERS REFURBISHED. These are high quality vintage Magnepan flat panel speakers from 1980. They have just been refurbished by Magnepan so are in great condition. It was a complete refurbish with new tweeters and new woofers, rewiring, and new Mylar. They have been repacked in new boxes. For this reason I have not removed them for pictures. They have a unique design with each speaker having 3 panels that are hinged together for placement. They look like room dividers but are actually high quality speakers. One panel has the bass, one panel has the midrange, and the other panel has the high frequency tweeters. These are great sounding speakers and are meant to be used in larger rooms. They need to be placed at leased 2' from the wall. These speakers like power and can take up to 300 watts so you will need a fairly large amplifier. They are 4 Ohm speakers. The speakers have new white covers or socks and it's possible the frames have some light wear so they are rated an 8. These weigh around 100 Lbs.. each. The photo is a stock photo and not the actual speakers.

Rich, I live in eastern Canada, New Brunswick. Always enjoyed my years with these speakers, aside from their domination of my room!!..Often wondered how the mid-woofer panels might blend with the new ribbon tweeter....the mid bass was soo good..Have a pair of 3.7's in a box currently that I must sell....Maggies are wonderful speakers, assuming you don't listen at headbanger levels. These were packed in the boxes when I got them back from Magnepan and I decided to leave them packed since I was selling. I have not opened to listen. These are ready to ship so I left them packed. Mags are good speakers. Rich |

Had a pair of these in the mid 70's ...still in the barn somewheres I think....drove then with a Van Austin Dyna 400!! GLWS..
Nice set up. Where do you live? Rich |
Why do you suspect frame damage ? Are these capable of being shipped ? Like they would be from White Bear Lake ? Thank you Tom There could be light wear on the frames. I have these at home. I was trying to sell locally to avoid shipping. They are in brand new boxes with packing ready to ship. I got them back from Magnepan boxed so i do not want to open. Since I have not had any local interest I will consider shipping these. Rich |
would luv to see actual photos The speakers are factory boxed in new boxes from Magnepan. I do not wish to open the boxes. Thanks |
