For sale is a Gustard X20U
DAC with USB in Silver. It has been fully modified by Ric Shultz at EVS to the
maximum Level 2+ spec.  Also included is
a Gustard U12 in silver.

This asking price is less than the upgrades Ric Shultz added.  It's a great DAC.

Here are some of the DAC upgrades:

- Bypass input AC filter and switch circuitry and wire transformers directly to
boards (simply unplug to turn off)

- Isolate transformers from chassis

- Liberal use of WA Quantum chips and dampening material on DAC chips and caps

- Upgrade rectifying diodes on output board

- Replace the standard clock with a higher quality Crystek TXCO clock wired
directly next to the DAC chips.

- The "+" mod is a hand-built shunt regulator to power the Crystek
off of the Gustard's main power rail for the cleanest possible power.

- Bypass the entire stock output stage with 2 high-quality Lundahl transformers.
Note that now balanced and single-ended can no longer be used simultaneously.
To use single-ended, insert the supplied XLR connectors into the unused XLR
jacks to bridge pin 1 & 3 for single-ended use. This is similar to what
balanced amps such as Pass Labs do to run single-ended, just on the source end.

With Ric's modifications, this is an entirely new DAC. Wider
soundstage, much greater detail retrieval, better bass definition and
extension. Generally speaking, it is a much more refined sound and the
difference is not subtle. With such a high-quality output stage you can run
this DAC directly to your amps with great results and just use the digital
volume control for attenuation.

a new ladder DAC to try for a while.  I’m
the second owner of the DAC which I purchased it in 2017.  I purchased the U12 from Amazon also in 2017.

The DAC and U12 are in great condition Original box, remote,
manual, power cord and drivers are included.
