JBL Synthesis SK2-3300 Center Channel Home Theater Speaker

The SK2-3300 is a compact 3-way high-performance LCR loudspeaker built upon the same technology (both 3” HF [midrange] driver and 1” tweeter) used in the acclaimed Project K2 S9900 (MSRP $43,999), one of the most advanced and sophisticated loudspeakers in the world today. A horn mounted 3-inch beryllium diaphragm compression driver delivers high-frequencies with lifelike dynamics and startling realism while a horn mounted ultra-high frequency 1-inch beryllium diaphragm compression driver recreates critical air and spaciousness. Two 10-inch Aqua-Plas™-coated woofers add serious punch and depth to the already potent combination of HF and UHF horns to reproduce music and movie soundtracks with the lowest distortion and flattest frequency response possible. The SK2-3300 can be used either as an LCR loudspeaker or as the companion center channel to the Project K2 S9900 or Project Everest DD66000 (MSRP $60,000). It can be mounted behind a screen, upside down if desired.

Lightly used in a dedicated home theater room with no pets or smoking. As a THX Ultra2 Certified loudspeaker, it is designed to work with multichannel music and movie presentations in rooms up to 3,000 cubic feet or larger. I had these paired to JBL Synthesis Project Array 1400 speakers but it never matched well because it is on a whole ‘nother level entirely. Just an astonishingly good LCR with clarity and dynamics of end game proportions. There are few LCRs out there at this level that can take center stage and fill a large space with ultra-low distortion, effortless, dynamic, detailed sound. Dialogue, vocals and voices are clearly delineated, as are instruments, sounds and effects. Don’t take my word for it, find someone who has heard it!
