This discussion cost me total of $500. Make that $750. I replaced both tweeters and the 4 level controls (parts $250.)

for this pair of AR-2ax speakers. Seller did a nice job replacing the linen cloth, walnut cabinets in pretty good shape, I changed the capacitors, cleaned the level controls, re-stuffed with polyfil.

I had these in college, 1967 from Sam Goody. mine were stolen in 1973. I've always missed them. When I realized, big, but not too big, only 11-1/2" deep, will fit in my office bookcases, the search was on.

    The 'air spring tweeters' of the EPI's sound interesting, I don't recall ever hearing them.

    I knew nothing, my involvement got started when I inherited my Uncle Johnnie's big console: Fisher President II. He bought it in 1958, I inherited it in 1973.

    Nope, wedding money. New wife, out of subway, up the long escalator, salesman waiting at the top. Budget: $500. Fisher 200T transistor receiver, AR-2ax, TT (BSR changer I seem to remember) done.
