This system is a combination stereo and multi-channel music/video system. The goal is to maximize the system's audio capabilities with as little in the way of compromises as possible considering it's multi-purpose circumstances and budget.

Rotel RB-985 mkII
100 Watts per channel X 5 into 8 ohms. Powering the front and rear center channels, and the rear L/R speakers. Eventually I will upgrade to a multi-channel amp from Legacy or Coda to better match my stereo amp used with the front L/R... In the meantime, this old Rotel has held up well, and gets the job done for movie soundtracks.

System Edited Swapped Linbrook Signature System main speakers for Philharmonic BMR Towers, and added an RS250 Music Streamer to play MQA Tidal master recordings.
System edited: System updated: Swapped LG Oled for the Sony LCD TV (now in bedroom rig). Swapped Samsung Multi-Region Blu-Ray for the Panasonic that was getting a bit long in the tooth.
System edited: Added Sony 55NX810 3D LED TV and Integra DHC 40.2 Pre/Pro. I am particularly sad to swap out the Cary Cinema 6, as it had excellent 2 channel sound... Alas, I needed HDMI 1.4 for the loss-less audio formats on Blu-rays so after 6+ years it had to be replaced by the Integra. Hopefully the Integra does not let me down too much for stereo use.
Dave, Be sure not to play the system too loud or with too much power. These speakers could blow your amp. This is what happend to me three different times. I finally found out there was a short in the crossovers.This ended-up costing me alot of money on repairs. I just don't want this to happend to anyone else. Thanks, Bill
While shipping those big boys back to the continental US from HI (wish *I* lived there) would be costly, I have a strong feeling that you are not going to even consider doing so once you hear them...
As for a description of their sound, I would recommend you read my review of them posted under the same user name on Audio Asylum... It gives a pretty objective viewpoint. The short answer is they sound amazing, and I am thankful every day when I look back on my trying out a used pair of Tyler Taylo Reference Monitors first to introduce me to the Tyler sound. The Signature System is in another league, of course, but I still loved the Taylos so much I kept them too. :-)
As for break-in on the System, the tweeter in particular will require at least 100 hours. Another pointer is that you should definitely use the supplied cones that Tyler sends with the speakers... I remember avoiding them at first (as the speaker is quite heavy and I was lazy), and I thought they sounded "good" but was somewhat disappointed after my Taylo experience... I put on the cones, and the bass just blended perfectly with the rest of the speaker... Two years later I haven't looked back.
Aloha Drsreid, I just ordered a pair of the Tyler Acoustics Linbrook Signature system, one piece, in rosewood. I usually like to listen to the speakers before I buy, but the Tylers have so much positive reviews, plus they have a money back gaurantee, that I decided to pull the trigger. The other speakers in consideration were B&W 803S, Dynaudio Focus 220. Living in Hawaii doesn't give you too many choices in "High- End" audio. My system consist of Audio Research, Theta and Mirage. ( my system is in this forum under the name "Pure and Simple") The M-7si will be used for home theater as soon as the Linbrooks arrive. Your speakers look awsome. That is probably because it is under a glass shelf (under the TV) with its grille on hiding the depth and body of the speaker. Due to the shelf, it makes taking a picture of the Center difficult. It is essentially a single horizontal magnetically shielded Linbrook Signature monitor in Rosewood.
Hi Dave, what can you tell me about that center speaker? I have the Linbrook Center but yours doesn't look like any of the Tylers that I have seen. Greg
Yep, that is next Greg... I am still learning how to get the best shots out of the camera (was not entirely satisfied with the early ones I got so far so I cropped what I thought was usable out of the larger shots). I have a long way to go before I can even be considered even an *amateur* "photograher." :-) Should have them up in the next couple of weeks though.
