Description

This is the first iteration of surround sound in the new place. No room for floor standing speakers, and I'm still putting myself through college so that puts a limit on the amount of overhead for a big home theater. Most likely this will grow and change over the years, I'll try to keep it as up to date as possible. The bug does seem to catch on pretty quick, especially when you work in an electronics shop from time to time.

    • Bose 201 sIV
    These are soon to be downgraded to rear surrounds in the next couple of days
    • Energy C-3
    These will soon be my new front right and left speakers. 6-1/2" midrange driver, same driver used in the higher end Veritas line, front port, 1" Aluminum dome tweeter.
    • Energy C-C1
    This will be the new center Channel. 2 5-1/4" midrange drivers, 1" aluminum dome tweeter, 2 front firing ports, magnetic grills.
    • Monster Cable M1000i
    1 m pair of interconnects, these run from the CD/SACD player to the B&K AVR 507. 3 Time correct multiple gauge wire networks phase compensation. Great interconnects, possibly a little bright
    • Roku Soundbridge M1000
    Network music player. Utilizes iTunes and Rhapsody. Ties into wireless network in home and all music on all computers in the house can be played through home theater as well as internet radio stations (even when the computers are not on!!!). Also comming soon (it is a work in progress after all)
    • Monster Cable M1000D
    1 meter Monster's M-series silver digital coax cable. All silver wire, sharp-changing square waves for digital signal, reduces jitter. Double shielded, terminated with 24k gold RCA connector with split-pin center for stronger connection
    • Yamaha DVD-C750
    DVD Audio/Video, SACD changer. Picture is great, sound is great, for a $300 changer that plays all formats, can't be beat. Load time is a little slow, but I can deal with that, it's a CHANGER
