The Naim 555 PS DR is a reference-grade, outboard power supply designed for Naim's flagship CD555 CD player and the nDAC. It radically improves sound quality by supplying ultra clean, stable, power that feeds the analog section of the nDac. The 555 PS DR is fully compatible with the Naim DAC (nDAC). The 555 PS is universally considered the ultimate external power supply upgrade for the nDAC. The Naim 555 PS DR (often referenced alongside the CD555 player or ND555 streamer) is an elite, outboard upgrade that significantly lowers the noise floor and expands the dynamic range of Naim’s flagship digital components. It boasts a toroidal transformer that is 40% larger than Naim's standard XPS power supply. Naim components are designed to leverage dedicated external power supplies to run sensitive audio and clocking circuits.

Conservatively rated at 80 watts per channel. This little amp has swagger. Amazingly, this transformer can draw as much as 400 VA from the mains, which is the same as approximately 400 watts! The amplifier delivers rapid, punchy bass with surprising weight and authority, making it sound significantly more powerful than the specs suggest.

The Naim HiCap DR is an external power supply designed to upgrade the sonic performance of Naim preamplifiers, phono stages, and select integrated amplifiers (such as the Supernait series). It operates by bypassing the internal power of the connected component to deliver cleaner, quieter, and more stable power. Offers lower noise floor, improved PRaT, and enhanced imaging. The Naim HiCap DR offers a rhythmic, forward sound with a classic punchy mid-bass and features a massive 500 VA twin winding transformer. That's one stout power supply for a preamplifier.
