Description

This is my new room (which will probably be continually in progress). After an extensive remodel adding an apt for one of my children. We removed the closet and made this my new 2CH/HT room. Having the couch against the back wall is not ideal, but not much I can do about that. I actually use all 3 record cleaning devices. I make a DIY solution of about 80% distilled water 20% alcohol and a few drops of a surfactant. I use this solution on the Record Dr. then place album in the HumminGuru which I fill with distilled water and their recommend surfactant, I stop the cycle when the drying cycle starts. Then place in the Spin Clean with just distilled water to rinse, then one more trip to the Record Dr to vacuum the rinsed water. This seems to work really well, enjoying albums I brought back in HS in the 70’s. I actually paired down my record collection significantly from about 900 to now only about 200, kept the ones I’ll actually listen to. Near future upgrades probably will be upgrading to the new Rega P6 rs model. and a new phono amp. Long term upgrades maybe a Rogue RP 5 and a new 2CH power amp. Have thought of room correction but with a bookcase on one wall, drapes and desk on the other wall (where the window is) and the couch on the back wall and a large area rug, not sure what would be cost effective. System update I was using the Park Audio WaxWing DSP phono amp (lots of neat little toys with that thing). I recently spent several hours several hours going back and forth between all 3. The Rega MC FONO was the definite winner. Surprised how good the zphono sounded at halve the price of the other two. The waxwing wasn’t bad (see above comments) would be a great choice in a different system. Another change I made was trading the Schiit Aegir with a friend for his Bottlehead S.E.X. headphone/speaker amp. Well either permanently trade or I’ll buy it from him. I’m going to spend some time comparing the Rega MCFono vs. the phono section of the Rogue RP-1. Update;
Did the comparison between the the Rogue phono section and the Rega MCFono. I believe I liked the Rogue phono section better, not to say the Rega was worse. Mostly a little different sound and I liked the Rogue difference better also cleaned up the rack some. Less components and cables. I think I’m done for awhile, now time to enjoy some music in my retirement

Yes they do. I went from AV123 Strata Mini's to these. I like the Zu Audio much better. I listened to Klipsch heresy’s and Wharfedale super linton's. They both were an improvement over the strata mini's, but I really preferred the Zu DW6’s.

Looks awesome---I bet the Zu's sound great with the Aegir.
