@dintymoore2003 Glad it is working out for you. I have been using a single REL sub in between the speakers but off center and been sound great until I went with a pair of Velodyne passive SC-8s and im shocked. The fact that the pair made a HUGE difference to the response and that is in my difficult almost square room but yet with some acoustics panels in the obvious reflection points in the room.
@dtorc Thanks! Yes, on the TT which was a key decision factor for the preamp. I'm looking at matching it with the Pass Labs XP-17 phono stage. TT will be a VPI to round out the 100% USA made analog front end
@highend64 Thanks! I did try a few different placements for the subs including inside the speakers and closer to the corners. The response seems to be similar everywhere as far as an even db across the lower frequencies and they completely dissapear. The perceived output does change a little just due to different interactions with the room, but where they are now, the trim is set so low (8 or 9 clicks out of 40 on the gain knob). So there's no benefit of moving them to get more output. I try to be careful not to overshadow the beautiful mis range of the LS35AS. Besides, where they are now leaves room for a pair of monoblocks on the floor :).
