started off wanting a ht syst. thats why i have the mht-200, then I was leaning to crit list, thats when I added the shindo pre amp, and the 501 mono amps. so now I have the best of both worlds.

dvi78 dvd player, great for movies and music play back I couldnt find a reason to do a sep cd player, this really holds it own againts most cd only players 3times the price

limit edit red, very entry lvl but very well built belt drive (hand switch belt for speeds) no plastic dish, very detail stage

Ltleo I was going to suggest upgrading your digital source. Can you really tell a significant difference in CD playback with the Esoteric DV-60? What other digital players did you audition? Currently building new two channel system which includes: Dali Helicon 300, McIntosh MC275 amplifier (2), McIntosh C46 pre amp. Looking at adding a great CD player to complement my system such as: Esoteric SA-60 or X-03SE, Ayre cx7se, or Meridian 808. Any comments? I'm half way there.

Hi Ltleo,

Take a look at my system link. My speakers look the opposite as one poster noted - the photos make them look further apart than they really are but still they're 11 ft apart. Works very well with the MS Performance speakers powered by Musical Fidelity source and amp. My wife insisted on the very long cabinet, so also not too much choice about the speaker spacing! Congrats on the Esoteric addition. I can imagine it sounding a treat with your combo!

Hey Hens, Thanks for your responce. I just upgraded I just put in a esoteric dv-60 gotta say very happy. The mcintosh pairs very well with the dalis. The 501's really have a nice sound even people who think that mc's have a heavy sound really will be impressd with the 501. But I also for just music I went with the shindo and this pre really makes the mcintosh shine.
The room yes I know not my choice the wife kinda made me keep it here lol, but we are in the market for a new house, and I got first dips on my own room for my toys lol.
What are you running?

Nice looking combo, Ltleo. How do the Dali's sound with the McIntosh amplification - I've heard them separately and could imagine them being a great match.

Only improvement I could see might be room related - your main speakers seem very close together (or was this just for photo purposes). Getting more space between them would definitely help with separation as well as soundstage and imaging.

Happy listening and watching!
