Looks very nice and condusive for intimate listening sessions.

The room my electronics are located in with the smaller OHMs is essentially similar dimensions to yours. I've also used my Dynaudio monitors in their to great effect.

Rooms like ours may not be optimal technically (what room is?) but still very capable of delivering top notch sound with no more effort in optimizing setup than required in most rooms. You can become immersed in great sound easily in rooms like these.

There is something to be said for a larger room also but for different reasons.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I am using Linn k400 speaker wire with Acoustic Zen Matrix II IC's. I love the thick sound of the Acoustic Zen. I just sold some audioquest speaker cable that was 3 times more expensive than the Linn cable and I am getting far better results with the linn. I have to tell you the best thing I have ever done in my system was when i added a REl strata subwoofer. The model ones love it. It affects the whole frequency range and really helps tone down some of those medal dome high frequency. My father has forests and we are now on the same level in bass quality!! You can pick on up for around 750 on the gon. Nice system again!!

Macd, thanks for the comments. My cables may be the weakest part of the system. Currently using a balanced Kimber Hero between int. amp/cdp. The dealer recommended it actually. The speaker cables are a bi-wire pair of Totem Tress with bananas on both ends. Ayre recommends spades for the amp terminals. The system sounds great right now so I am hesitant to spend money on cables.
I used to have the Totems slightly toed-in but they are noticable better when faced directly forward, no toe-in at all. I have them over three feet out from the front wall because I'm addicted to the deep soundstage. I would get a little more bass if I backed them up a bit, but again it sounds quite good in there right now so I don't want to move anything at the moment. What speaker cables are you using?

Excellent looking system. This surely is something that you can enjoy for years to come! I am a Model one owner and I must say that they are not too room dependent (although ever speaker is to a point) but they do like being moved around. Experiment with placement and possible toe in (toe in collapsed my soundstage). I am not surprised that you are getting a good soundstage, although the room does have something do to with it, I have found that soundstageing with the model ones has alot to do with the electronics and cables. Different ICs can result in a drastic change in soundstage...although I could argue that you could throw model ones in a garbage dumpster and their still soundstage like demands...

Yeah its a great place to go hide. I have always liked near-field listening. It reminds of being in high school with my system in my bedroom and sitting close with low volume so that I didn't disturb anyone. I guess that's why I am drawn to small systems in small spaces today.

Should this be your last system, it is certainly one you can enjoy for all the years to come. The room may size may not be ideal, but really there is no place like home.
