Hi. My system benefits by adding tubes to it. My previos dacs have been an older Theta Pro Basic 2 and my Benchmark Dac 1. I really like the Benchmark (I still use it for headphone listening.) The EE dac is very detailed and the tube output shows it advantages in a greater soundstage and a bet warmer sound. I will keep the ee dac as my main dac. Morningstar audio has a money back policy and Bill is a good guy to deal with. I hope this helps you. Btw, I switched out the stock tube w/mullard cv 4003 and this made a great difference in the bass. I hope this helps you, Steve
