Description

My audiophile brother set up this system for me five years ago using Audiogon. The system sounds decent and, with the recent addition of a Sirius tuner, plays an amazingly large variety of music.

I'd appreciate any advice from the pros here. Thanks in advance.

    • Kef 103-2
    With isolating stands.
    • Bedini Electronics 25.25
Thirty years old and still working fine. The temperature of the heat sinks on either side is starting to be different so I think its time to send it in.
    • Rega Planet
    Easy and functional loading system
    • Sirius SR-H550
    Very light-connected to roof antennae
    • Conrad Johnson PV-10AL
After the AR SP-6a fried its only solid state part, we decided to go with a Conrad Johnson since Bob Beckert lives nearby.
    • Power Conditioner PS Audio P300
After the power supply melt-down of the AR 6P-6 I thought I had better get a good power supply into the system. This one is superb. It rebuilds the wave.

Awesome system. I am a big fan of Conrad Johnson equipment myself. I currently own the Conrad Johnson Evolution 2000 amplifier and the PV-12 preamp. I also had owned their PF-2 preamp in the past. I find their sound to be unparalleled.

If you want to see my system you can find it here on "Conrad Johnson Owners.com". You may want to check the site out as it's a completely Conrad Johnson audio equipment dedicated forum site. Or you can just google "Conrad Johnson Owners". Kind of cool to have a dedicated site just for Conrad Johnson equipment.

Well, like I said. Congrats on the system it's really beautiful.

System edited: The Audio Research Sp-6a fried its only solid state part, so it was time to change. Conrad Johnson was chosen since Bob Beckert lives nearby. A true power conditioner was added to rebuild the wave and protect the system.

I'm surprised u don't have vinyl. I use to own an ARC SP-6B
at one time and played records constantly. This unit does not like low or even medium output phono cartridges,But a high output Grado of 4MV. or more would work very well
straight into the phono stage. I u needed a moving coil
u would need a head amp in front of it such as the old Music Reference RM-4 which I think is still being made.
