Description

I got back into the stereo game since the early 90's and in the past 2 years, I went from Kef XQ speakers to Model 1's, Model 2's, 104.2's to my current speakers 105.3's and 107.2's and 200C. I remember drooling over these speakers in college. I went from a Yamaha receiver to B&K receivers to now separates. Cableing changed from Monster cables to real cables. What a difference 2 years makes! Room size is 24x13x8 and opens up to the kitchen, dining room in the back. I'm shopping for some maroon velvet curtains for the back wall.

    • Kef 107-2
These where my dream speakers I couldn't afford when I went to college. 20 years later, my foray into HT lead me back here. Foam surrounds and both tweeters where replaced. They produce Evil Bass especially if ran thru the KEF Kube. A Big 2 Thumps Up!
    • Kef 105.3's
I prefer these speakers over the 107.2's for HT but prefer the 107.2's if I wanted to Crank It Up. Better midbass and more revealing of source.
    • Kef 200c
Classic full range center channel to go with my 107.2's and 105.3's. This one was hard to find. Running full range to the center makes a huge difference over the Model 100 I had
    • Kef 90
Using a paif or Kef Reference Model 90's Center channels as rear surrounds hanging from rear the ceiling. This works fine for rear fill sound which sounds best from the ceiling
    • Velodyne Velodyne SPL1200R
Fast, tight, musical base for a 12
    • McCormack DNA-1 dlx
200 wpc x 2. Very detailed and smooth sounding power, what McCormack is known for. Great amp for the money.
    • McCormack DNA-HT1 dlx
100 watts x 3 to drive the main and rear channels. Perfect match for my DNA 1 Deluxe 200 WPC.
    • B&K Components Reference 50
A good sounding Surround Processor and a great value in the used market.
    • Acoustic Zen Reference Matrix II's
After scowering the discussion forumns for IC reviews, this cable consistently came up for being warm, detailed, and just darn good. It didn't disappoint
    • Acoustic Zen Satori Speaker Cables
I have these connected to the front 3 speakers. I coulnd't afford an 80 foot foot run to the rear channels. Just using Generic cables for those. Robert Lee sure knows how to do cables at Acoustic Zen
    • Wire World Super Nova 5+ Optical cable
I found this Glass Optical cable from reading the reviews on Agon. Sounds much more dynamic than the cheap plastic optical cables I had
    • Custom Power TOP GUN HCF 15amp Power Cord
I use these to power both my amps. This cord won the Golder Ear award in 2002. Very black backgound and very Warm sounding.
    • Shunyata Python 15 amp Power Cord
I run this to my B&K processor. Very airy, detailed sound. Works better on the Processor than my amps.
    • Acoustic Zen Satori Jumpers
I have these jumpers on my 200C center channel and 105.3's. Low end frequencies and punch improved tremendously
    • Hubbell Porter Port 20 amp Wall Outlet
Cryoed 20 amp Hospital grade wall outlet.
    • Pioneer 60 Inch Plasma 1080p
This was top of the line a few years ago. Darn good picture quality but is real heavy and uses a lot of electricity
    • LG Blue Ray / HD player
I nice Blue Ray player for 1080p video
    • Herbies Tenderfoot Vibration Dampener System Isolation
I use Herbies Tenderfoot, 4 underneath the Blueray Player and 4 under the B&K Pre/Processor and under both amps. What a difference it makes. No more digital glare, bright or edginess. Background is now blacker than black and everything sounds deeper. Sound is worthy of a major component upgrade.
    • Herbies Black Hole CD / DVD mat
Another fine tweak which eliminates microvibrations from the source. This is the cheapest tweak with the biggest performance gain for the money
    • Herbies Big Fat Dot Speaker Isolation
I used these under the 105.3 speakers to further eliminate micro vibrations and to my amazment, imaging, clarity, and staging improved dramatically. Without elimating microvibrations from source to speakers, you wont know the true potential of your system. I no longer have a desire to upgrade my McCormack amp to Revision A
    • Herbies Thin Fat Dots Speaker Isolation
I used these dots under the 200C Center channel. Similair results to Big Fat Dots
