Description

Hello, I am really enjoying my system. I upgraded from a realistic sta-870 integrated, which was super clean and offered 65 watts. My friend is letting me borrow this B&K amp and pre-amp, but is doubtful he will sell it.

I am relatively new to this, but I'm hooked.

Questions:

What should I get to fill the gap left if I can't buy the B&K from said buddy? The realistic is cute, but even my wife can hear the difference with the B&K...

What should I consider upgrading next? Cables are thick and clean, interconnects are awesome.

I have a lot of Beatles, moody blues, and rolling stones. Especially like wings, Paul McCartney, and steely dan. Also listen to a lot of white stripes and black keys, as well as some Clapton, Hendrix, and RL Burnside.

Budget is always a question, but I tend to spend it on records not equipment.

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated!

The B&K stuff is great sounding gear, especially the amp.  What is your budget?  We should start there and then I can recommend what to consider.  I had two different B&K amps, the ST140 and EX442 Sonata, loved both of them.

Now I have a Tandberg TIA3012 integrated amp that is much beefier sounding than the ST140 although the same power.  They both use mosfets but I think the ST140 is probably sweeter sounding.
