Description

Dedicated power lines feed the hospital grade connectors.
I got Mojo-Audio’s last usb only DAC. (Upgraded the opamps to Staccato.)
Benjamin also built a Linux based i5 32g ram NUC with his Dejavu software and jRiver.
Added a Luminati power supply for the NUC.
Took some doing and ran a cat 6a Ethernet cable to the computer. The Dejavu software has a  Qobuz interface.

I must take back the previous comment. Wish I could delete the post.
Benjamin is absolutely man of his word.
A huge misunderstanding on MY part.
Apologies.

Out with the old in with the new. After 15 years it was time for a change.
I am happy.

A Roc-N-Soc throne. You must be a drummer or keyboardist.

Going on fifteen years... made one upgrade and changed the chair.
Added Audirvana software a couple years ago. 👏👏👍
Still a happy camper. No pun intended given today’s circumstances.

Let's see it is four years since my last update... nothing has changed except idiot (me) has learned I can control the Macmini's output signal. Changed the output to 96kHz (all music is Apple lossless) that the Xciter receives. WOW!
My system sounds exponentially better.
For a set of smallish speakers 🔊 n a small environment I could not be happier.
Thinking about trying a Cary tube integrated.

Still the same. No changes.

I agree a stand can affect the sound. I would question your outlet set up. Is it just laying on the floor?

System edited: Changed stand... custom made 2" cherry Added a Fanfare tuner which is fed by a ST-1 antenna. CD player started having issues and since going to a MAC computer based music library was in the cards and an appropriate DAC was going to be needed added a Cary Audio Xciter DAC. Grabbed my Oppo 980H DVD player and Blue Jeans toslink and married the group together. I'm shocked at how well it sounds. More harmony in the heartland...

System edited: The equipment rack went from an Adona stand to a stand of my design (which if I had it to over again would be modified) made out of 2" cherry wood. I cannot believe a deceit tuner is worth the money. It is.

It is now June of 2008.
Nothing has changed.

Well done! I love a simple system where music appears to be the most important consideration. Bravo!

This is the most intriguing system I have seen on Audiogon. It looks like dollar per dollar an extremely difficult system to beat. I am a big fan of Blue Circle but I have only used their tubed separates. Would you mind sharing your experiences with this integrated? Also, I almost bought a pair of Shahinian Obelisks but I opted for JM Reynaud instead. I was concerned about the imaging. How have you found the Shahinians to perform vs full range drivers? Thanks for your time.

The systems synergy is really quite beyond words. I wish I had the $$$ to purchase the top of the line Shahinian speakers.
You NEVER see used Shahinian speakers for sale and the company has been in business for quite a while.

hbarrel

Simplicity...ah...love it. Was reaserching on the NSCS. Nice setup. You must be basking in the musical warmth!!

For no reason other than it had to go somewhere and between the speakers happens to be a good fit.
It does not diminish the sound.

hbarrel

Why is the chair between the speakers?

tabl10s

Ahh simplicity; couldn't agree more. Would you prefer to fiddle with components and cables or listen to music?
Spme pics would be nice.
