Description

Recently, I have changed my system connections according to the dealer's suggestion. I have never heard of the company Hemingwayaudio and its cables and its insane price also. I think I was swindled by my old dealer. However, It was unbelievable! They have no advertisement and no marketing hype but their sound made me crazy! I should trade other barmecidal cables and both of Burmester 909 power amps with these. (909 shows out of phase sound with bridge mode.) My friends told me I'm crazy but it's worth of it, I'm sure. I didn't want to be a snake hunter but I'm going to be.

    • Burmester Audio 969
Best Transport I have ever had in my room. Most revealing, stable. Reads all data without missing a bit from CDs.
    • Burmester Audio 970
uncompromising. Thus, despite the 970 has consistent advantages in detail, ambience, and tonal integrity
    • Burmester Audio 808 mkV
My reference free amp since 2 years ago. It describes every details in recording without any coloration and exaggeration.
    • Goldmund goldmund telos 2500
MonoBlock. 2500W on 1 ohm. Unbanced/balanced analogue input and SPDIF. Speedy, Dutiful. Does not go with Mimesis 22 with so much coloration to me.
    • Avantgarde avantegarde trio omega/bass horn
You will know when you have these that in man¡¯s quest for the ultimate in performance, always the most fascinating things arise.
    • Hemingwayaudio Ultimate series speaker
Until I have heard this cable, I think cables are full of dazzling advertisement. I have spent so much money on cables so far but this is the 'ultimate' solution for me. Fantastic! Believe it or not, I even think other components are just end terminations of this cable.
    • Hemingwayaudio Ultimate series interconnecting
You will get to know how much cable does matter on hearing with this. It has different dimension compared with other cables which has boxes, those are armed with hypes.
    • Hemingwayaudio Ultimate series power
Most important link of my system. Better than any other power generator and AC enhancer. Unfortunately, cable matters after all.

Wow, you have a very beautiful system and have invested some *very* serious money into it. However, I think you are following the path of simply using money - and lots of it - to improve the system's sound quality by buying very expensive equipment and cables. It's a good start, but you are no where near what you could have.

You would be well advised to employ the use of a professional acoustician and have him give you ideas for improving the sound of that system in that room. I am not a pro, but I can tell you that you are already making some very basic mistakes:

1) Having all that reflective equipment in between your speakers is very bad if you wish to have pinpoint imaging and a credible soundstage.

2) What I can see of then room indicates that it is very hard and reflective. Judicious use of acoustic panels, bass traps, floor coverings, etc. would go a long way towards taming what is probably a sonic nightmare.

Again, I highly recommend you contact a firm that does room tuning and get someone in there to help you with your room. The best gear in the world is all for naught if the room is not up to par...

You have an impressive system for sure. I'm certain it sounds pretty good!
However, I feel it's a shame to stack all your equipment on top of each other without any de-coupling devices and placing the amps on the floor and right in front of those woofers is certainly not ideal.
After investing so much money on your system, wouldn't it be logical to spend a bit more on a properly designed equipment rack?

some smart guys got rich thanks to you, but since you had the money and like them no problem. nice components.

Where's the room treatment?!? All this amazing gear, and no room treatment?

The color of those Trios is startlingly beautiful! I'll bet your front end components sound just fine, SET or not!

Having said that, you should call Nori Komuro and have him design an amp for you.

Don't think I've ever seen Avantgardes, or any horns for that matter, driven my solid state behemoths. Congrats on what appears to be a nice system. Interesting cables.

devilboy

Wow, a great system ! Did you try any of the SET designs vs your Goldmunds ?

is nice to have a friend like you, i want to be your friend, your system is beautiful, i can imagine after hard days work coming home to relax and longing to listen to your very favourite LP /SACD .
Or getting up early morning just to listen.
Yes , cables and IC do a lot in improvement of system.
i do not see you have a power conditioner, try Richard Gray Power House, it weight 350lbs,it clean my system and MRSP is USD9000
It is worth it. i am sure your dealer will be happy for a try out.
What is life is to spend what you can afford, you cannot know what comes tomorrow.

Over the top system. When it comes to cost of cables or any other component. If you can still put food on the table and a roof over your head, go for it. Would love to hear your impressions should you ever swap out your SS gear for tubes. You have a fun system.

Your Guards Red Trios looks FANTASTIC. Brings back great memories with my 1st Guards Red Porsche.

As far as cables, you only live once so I say spend as much as you can afford and ENJOY!

Very nice . I think we should all own horns once in are lives . As far as spending money on cables and cords , Iv'e spent considerable over the years on high end wire and have not regretted one single purchase . Enjoy

I love Avantegarde Trio Omegas too BUT why are you using a 2500 watt amplifier with a 19ohm 110db horn speaker?

Your system makes no sense whatsoever! You should check out a couple of low power push-pull or SET tube amps [300B,845 triode etc. 30 watts max] Same goes for your preamp, all though Burmester is a nice sounding one. It may take some work to get them quite as those speakers are so sensitive. As far as uncolored sound goes, their is no such thing as ALL musical instruments have color and distortion, it's what gives them their distinct sound! I also know a cable designer manufacturer here in the SF Bay Area that has products that are a fraction of the price of those power cables that will totally out perform them! Sorry to say but high price just means your getting ripped off. If you don't know how the those cables are made from an engineering standpoint you should NEVER spend that kind of money. However since funds are not an issue for you check out some tube amps and start listening to music that is color full! You can spend the extra money use saved on a turntable and an open reel tape deck.

Happy listening to those awesome horns.

Great system . I havn't heard the trio's , I'll bet there riveting . I have heard the duo's , very uncompressed sounding . I have to agree with you on cabling and cording , Spend as much as you can afford and you will be rewarded . Also you won't have to up grade .

Absolutely beautiful. I am certain it sounds amazing.

Amazing system!!! Congratulations!!! Your fortunate to find a cable you feel works with your system, satisfies your ear/brain/heart and makes you happy. I think the cable's price is proportionate to the costs of your components!!! Who better to judge than the person that is willing to purchase this level of component what works best for them!!!
Enjoy,

The vast majority of people in this hobby agree with you that cables DO make a difference. Most people part company with you on how much is required to get superb performance. I'm of the opinion, that there are quite a few superb speaker cables and interconnects available under $500. Even under $250 there are fanstastic performers.

However, Verneal, my friends got to agree that they were wrong. There have been significant improvements on sounds. They only disagree with the fact that I spend so much money on cables not on speaker or good looking, luxurious components. Until now, I have listen to music with my 'crazy investment' cables for a full month and it's getting better and better. Yes, I have spent so much on this dark snakes (even if they have gold-plated braces)but they give me more pleasure and satisfaction than any kind of high-end components gave to me. I do care about trading value. I don't want to lose my money. However, we are in the world of refined taste of hobby. It costs a lot of money like going out with super model on a cat walk.

If you are satisfied with any cable like diy cable etc, you are so blessed. I envy you but I am not so blessed.
I should spend so much money on my pastime thing to get better result, unfortunately but definitely I know cable does matter.

If you think cables are just b... s... thing,

Your friends are right. Listen to them more
