Description

My system is the result of a slow evolution, much like my budget.

Main system:

Front end sources are Rega Apollo and a Mac mini. I have got my eyes open for a DAC for the Mini. I am currently using NAD C720BEE as preamp for the McIntosh MC275 in the main system downstairs. I would prefer to use a better preamp but, this system belongs to the whole family and the receiver is currently the most versatile solution. The NAD, aside from feeding the MC275, is pushing 2 pairs of speakers outside on the patio. The MC275 is pushing a pair of Von Schweikert VR-3's. Interconnects are Ultralink. Speaker cable is Monster cable that looks like clear lamp wire.

Bedroom system:

Thorens TD160 serves as source for Mengyue Mini EL34 tube amp. I am using an old Yamaha C-50 as preamp. It has a nice phono stage. Speakers are Energy 4.1e. Oddly enough, this secondary system is the far more engaging than the main.
