Description

I am more music lover than audiophile. So I will try to listen more music than spend too much time build my system. All my system component are bought used to lower the cost. My 1st speaker is a pair of PSB Stratus Gold powered by yamaha receiver. Then I added McCormack DNA 0.5 amp and TLC preamp. My 1st CD player is the Marantz cd63. As a poor student living in a dorm, These component plus the music CDs from public library gave me so much joy while listening. As I move to a big house, I added a pair of martin logan Aries for string and vocal listening. In the mean while, I go to live music more often including Berlin symphony. As you can see, I am now a happy owner of a pair of b&w 801 s2 special edition. As you can see, I don't have vinyl recording. I only listen to digital including CDs and lossless tidal streaming. I believe music future is digital streaming. I am a happy listener to live stream from Berlin symphony. What I want now, just listen to my classic music collection.

Nice system. I know first-hand that Led Zeppelin also sounds phenomenal on the 801s. With proper amplification (like the Audio Research/Mark Levinson/Krell combo I lusted after, back in the mid-90s) the presentation was holographic. My love for high-end audio began with those speakers.
By the way, although hi-res digital is far more convenient and sounds impressive, there's also magic to be heard in a good analog setup. There are plenty of reasons vinyl staved off extinction and is making a comeback, and it's more than just nostalgia.

Sorry to ask, but have you compared your Kimber Cables to Morrow Audio?
This is a comparison you should try.  I already know the winner.  They offer trades of other brands.  Hint, hint.

Len,
A deep dive into Buxdtehude is on my short list. Shame on me. All it takes is a couple of clicks on amazon. Somewhat easier than a 200 mile walk through 18th century Germany. Time is part of God's creation. He is not subject to it or limited by it, though he acts in it with respect to man. I would suggest John and Paul's visions of the 3rd heaven involve suspension of our normal perception of time.

Junzhang, sorry Len and I have highjacked your system thread for an unrelated conversation. Nice system. I have owned the McCormack TLC and DNA amps. They perform well above their price points and do well with classical music. Enjoy!

If God does have a time machine (doubtful) he doesn't rent it out Bill.
In his infinite goodness our Lord has allowed the Legacy of the Great Soul to be everywhere in equal measure .

P.S . Been on a Buxtehude kick lately, his organ music as played by Tom Koopman shows him to be right in there with J.S., at least on that instrument .The walk was worth it .

Len, Give me Leipzig 1725 over Berlin, this year or any year. Forgive my heretical question, but can there be heaven on earth in the absence of the allmachtigen Bach?
