System edited: I just blew what I had saved on the TT, but on a purely theoretical level, what would be a fitting upgrade for my amp? Probably would have to be in the $500 range, used. I was interested in the review I recently read of the Marantz PM7200 in What Hi-Fi, me having some sort of underserved loyalty towards Marantz. What about the option of getting a burly power amp and using my 2270 as a preamp? Crazy? Genius? Crazily genius?

Yeah, the phonostage and preamp are already built into the 2270.

Isn't the Marantz 2270 a vintage 2 channel receiver? If so, the linestage preamp & TT input is there already.
Thanks,

Do you plan on getting some sort of linestage preamp when or before you get a TT?

Are you running your CD Player straight into your Marantz Amplifier? How is that working for you?
