I'm fairly pleased with this system. In my small room it does sound real nice. No low end of course. I'm thinking of eventually adding full range speakers or trying Naim amplification. But I guess I'm in no real hurry. This is the most content I've been with my stereo in about 3 years.
No, I haven't had any problems with the Richmonds. Which version do you have? I think mine are the 2's the port is in the front. The 3's have the port in the back.
I have some similar elements. Rega 2000 cdp, Castle Richmonds. I have had some driver problems with my Castle's I sent one back for warranty repair to a shop in Buffalo NY. Have you had any similar situations? Now the other speaker has some funky crackling at certain frequencies. Nothing visibly touching or otherwise out of sorts.
Before I bought the Planet I was using a Marantz Cd changer for CD playback. I can say that the Planet did add a fair amount of bass that the Marantz lacked. I welcomed the increase of bass in my system. It now is a little warmer and fuller sounding all the way around.
How does the Rega Planet 2000 work with the Majik? I have a Majik and I'm afraid that there is going to be too much bass and lower bass bloom. This was the problem with my high end Rotel cdp. I use the pbj to tighten things up also.
