Buck I have had the Bel Canto Dac and it took less than a few hours to decide it was not a good fit. I have had the 120's for 2 years. I will give a Jitter reducer a try.Thanks.
Hi, Natalie. I also have a Nak changer, the MB2s, not quite as well built as yours. I use a Monarchy DIP Mk II antijitter in front of the DAC ( A Dan Wright modified MSB Link III with monolithic power supply). Have you tried using the DIP or other anti jitter device? It did make the system more analog sounding, the Wright mods improved the weak bass. It certainly is cheaper than the other solutions.
I recommend the Bel Canto DAC 1 or 2. Also, I've heard nothing but good things about the new Kora Hermes if you want something a little pricier. BTW, when did you pick up the Rogue M120's?
Kora Hermes DAC - works great with my Mcintosh 7008 CD changer - the 7008 has the music bank system. The Anthem CD 1 has the system but is no longer made. The new Mcintosh changer is 2500. A refurbished 7008 could be what you need. Holds 6+1.
If it's a tube DAC that you're after, consider a California Audio Labs Alpha. It's a discontinued item, so only available used (typically $400-$500, or a couple hundred more with the 24/96 upgrade). I've also heard Bel Canto's DAC, which is also very good (but no tubes).
Maybe instead of just a DAC you should consider a whole new player, such as the Shanling T100 or some of the offerings by Cary and Meridian. That way you could save your existing player for a second system.
