    • Apple iPod 3rd generation 40G
3rd generation 40G iPod, no mods.
    • Shure e3c
In-ear monitors. Better than the Apple supplied buds, by a long shot.
    • iSkin iPod Cover
Wasabi green. I'm sure it increases the soundstage, especially in the dark.
    • Apple iPod Socks
To help keep warm in the minus 10 to 20 days, on my walk to work.

I think that Stereophile gave the e3c a class C and e5c a class A, if my memory serves me. I own the e3c and love the sound though, except that I've never quite gotten used to the ear bud being inserted so far into my ear. I only use it on airplanes. I use a Sony "sports" over the head model for the gym.

Just added an iPod nano to my system. It is too beautiful to pass up !!!!Meanwhile my iPod 3G battery is shot, as I can barely get more than an hour of play after a full charge. I have ordered a Newer Tech replacement and I will try to install myself with their installation tools.

Get the JBL On Stage for the Ipod. You can find it very cheap & it is better in the mids & treble than the Bose. Takes no space & has bass.

Did you compare the e3c to the e5c? Curious if the e5c's are worth the extra cost.
