Description

Goals were to match my taste in music to my budget. Tube pros to me and my budget are better than the cons. I bought most of this stuff in 1987-88 and the going new prices have went up. The Sub helps with the D70 power level. This room is in a stage of tuning and adjusting.

Hi DHGee. I had an almost identical system for about 12 years, including Sota/MMT/SP9/D70II/Vandersteen. I upgraded the Vandersteens from 2s to 3s to 5s. I still have the same front end!

You've got a lot of nerve buying great gear and then using it for many years unchanged! Outrageous! You sir are an insult to all members of the merry-go-round-never-ending-box-swappers-audiophile club!

Nice job! :)

I have not used the winged c 6550's. I'm using the Re-issue Tung-Sol 6550s. Not as detailed and transparent as the ARC Phillips 6550's I had for a long time. Price and matching to my system flaws was a factor.

Dhgee, are you still using the GE 6550's in your D-70?
I had one blow up on me a couple of days ago in my D-70 and will probably
go with the winged c 6650's.. any thoughts on these?
