Description

After 5 years in this game with changing equipments when butget allowed, my system now can produce the music I like. I listen mostly to jazz (Diana Krall, Partricia Barber,.. ) and my loving Vietnamese music (I am Vietnemese). Sometimes Rock ad Classical. The best achievement on my system was the time when I installed all the bass traps. They make music floating in my room with a vast 3D soundstage.

Welcome to all opinions on how to improve my system more.

Thanks

With such a nice system would not want the music to ever end. Great gear set up nicely with your room treatments. Love your Mc combo. Happy listening.

I have audio in my laptop in the form of wav format. I use once in a while with my system and sure sound pretty good. I personally can't hear the difference between redbook cd and wav or aiff format but I can hear a huge difference between mp3 and cd. I believe that the components use reflect on how good the sound is.

Hi Highend64.
Thanks for the comment. It is very nice to know you. I am still thinking between cd transport vs computer audio. Have you ever thought about computer audio?

Nice setup Dangcaonguyen. I like how incorporated acoustic treatment to room. Nice job! I am also looking for a cd player since mine doesn't work anymore. Do you have a budget for a cd player?

303T is SACD player...with AES/EBU, Coaxial, Toslink digital inputs. Four (4) 12AUZ tubes. Standalone DAC. Four PCM DAC chips.

It's the professional version of the later 303.

Hi
Any of you familiar with the wavelength cosine dac. I am thinking of getting a decent transport to match with it in the future. What transport you reccomend to use with my dac if my budget is about $500-$700 used.
Thanks.

Hi Lapierre.
I am on the tight budget right now. I am thinking of a decent transport when allowed. What do you think?
Thanks

Thanks for the complement and panel information.

Analysis Plus works well in my system. Dali Helicon now has the punch in the low end with incredible mid and highs. ONE thing I like about Analysis Plus is customization of connectors. MC275 requires a barrier spade of 0.32" wide or 0.04" thick. Interconnects provide all the details you need for great sound from the music.

What's next on the HiFi roadmap?

Thank you Lapierre.
I love the sound house of every Mcintosh component. I saw that you have all Mcintosh too, and much better than me. Congratulations. I used the Owen Corning 703 and 705 (2x4 2" thick) for flat panels. For the tube traps, i use Oc703 too but they made it intented to use for heat isolation system. I was spinning Frank Sinatra when i took the pictures. How is the Analysis Plus associates with Mcintosh Components.
Thanks again for the comments.

Thank you Returnstackerror.
I was forturnated to surf through the Ethan Winer Bass Traps webstite. With little effort I found out the place selling the OC703 near my house. After the first 4 traps on the sides of the speakers, I started to recorgnize the importance of the room in a stereo system. So with the little step by step i have built my room treatment as you see it now. Do you reccomend any transport i should look at in the near future? My budget is about 500 to 700 used. Are your room treated as well? Do you buy it or diy?
Thanks

Nicely done Calvin.

Great mix of components using C46 and MC402. Always loved the C46 which pairs well with SS or tube power amps.

DIY panels look great. What material are you using for the acoustic panels?

Spin the Yellowjackets on the Rega TT.

lapierre

Great to see you recognized the importance of the room in the whole equation.

Very nice effort as you are maximizing the investment in your equipment.

Congrats
