There are vibrapods, other sorbothane feet and spikes for isolation. The turntable sits on a maple chopping board. The board has spikes and sits on a 2" granite slab.
This is an odd shaped room. ~11x12 with 8' ceilings. There are french doors to one side and a passenger door on the other.
Wow, pretty similar system in many ways to mine (I5, LP5.3, Hawks). The Totems and I5 really make music together, don't they?
My LP5.3 is brand-spanking new, just breaking in now...wow is this thing quiet! My copy of Abbey Road had this constant "hiss" going through the whole record, and that's completely gone with the LP5.3! Will be seeing how its sound affects my overall system over the next little while...and isn't that one of the best parts of this hobby, listening to your music again for the first time!
System edited: Have upgraded to Totems. I decided to buy these new to support my local dealer. They will be breaking in. I am very excited!!!!!! I now consider myself, "done for now"
Rudy- Looking good, one of these days we'll have to get together to listen! We keep saying it, one day it'll work for us.
I agree though it was a lot of sweat and hard work that went into building this house- I am glad as a member of audiogon I could help with the framing :o)
