Description

This is my two-channel system for my home office. I also have a system in the kitchen that plays mp3s from my computer in the office via the wireless network. And of course I have a DVD system in the living room for movies.

Peacefrog, at one time I had a system very similar to yours (cambridge a3i integrated and d500se cdp driving psb 4ts). Liked it a lot. Moved onto vandy 2ce. Really a worthwhile investment. Big, open, rich, natural sound. Good tonal balance. Made the psbs (which again I liked) seem like toy speakers. Try to audition a pair if possible to see if they're your cup of tea (not everyone likes 'em as much as I do). Have fun and enjoy.

System edited: The NAD T751 that I moved into this system from my surround system just died, so I replaced it with the Cambridge Audio Azur 540A. This amp sounds really good, especially considering the street price was just $329. The sound is a little more forward than the NAD, but it seems more detailed with greater bass response.

Vandersteen and NAD seems to be a sonic match made in heaven. Glad to see you're enjoying the upgrades as I too spend MUCH more time with my music than my movies.

System edited: B&W 201i bookshelf speakers out; PSB Image 4Ts moved in from my theater system. My theater system now has no rear speakers since I moved the PSB Image 1Bs to the front to replace the 4Ts that I moved into the office. This gives me better sound in my office where I spend most of my time when at home. I don't watch that many DVDs so I can live without the rear speakers. In the long run, however, I plan on getting something else in my office (leaning towards Vandersteen 2ce or Von Schweikert VR-1) and putting the PSBs back into the theater system. But for now I'm happy. I've got much better bass extension as well as better clarity.
