Description

This is a system I am trying to put together. I currently own the Maggies and the Proceed amp. My current CD player is a Linn Genki and I'm using a 12 year old VTL Maximal tubed preamp w/phono stage. I also have a Music Hall MMF5 turntable. Nothing wrong with any of the pieces I've already got and the system sounds great.

Great is great, but I'm shooting for amazing--and without breaking the bank. I want SACD and the ability to upsample "red book" CDs to 24bit/192kHz. I want remote volume control on my pre-amp. And I've now convinced myself that vinyl is still a desireable thing and want to upgrade my analogue front end. I haven't yet decided on a phono pre-amp. Offer suggestions, if you like, but keep the price limit at $1,000. Also let me know if you have good/bad experiences with any of the pieces of this system. Thanks!
