just wondering about your galo's? we have a really poor rep here in Baton Rouge, LA that has them hooked up with cheap speaker wires and a Sherwood amp. I was wondering based on what I have read about them in Mapleshade's music catolog, do they sound good with some real high current power?
nice set of speakers that truly reproduce what is given them. i have had two amps on them and it was a very different experience with both, so the speakers are to be commended. went from 60 watts class a (cec amp3300). to a 100 watts given by the yba ya201. they do seem to have a sweetspot of volume that is a bit louder than most (high 80's to lower 90's spl). also play with the front spikes as they raise the soundstage considerably with adjustments. most of all enjoy the music, so easy to lose that as the reason for all the effort. happy listening.
Just looked at your system after reading your "going insane" post. I hope you seriously consider a Lenco if you are seriously into vinyl. It will be the last table you consider. On another note, I was bummed to see your Lennon comment. Nothing remotely humorous about his death. He was the heart and soul.
System edited: Picked up an old technics linear tracking table at a garage sale, and I am actually impressed with the sound. Considerably so as in comparison to the Micro Seiki I own. Can anyone give me any pointers on how to take care of records as I am completely as a few that I have purchased are fairly warped. Thank you Audiogon members for your suggestions as I am in absolute heaven when I arrive home every day, and get to spend a few precious moments with my system. To think a couple months ago I thought my Harmon Kardon reciever was the be all end all.
