Great looking system! Wish I could hear it. I'm very impressed with your DIY amps and preamp, very nice design work. Their looks rival work by well known industrial designers. I'm going to build some bass traps like you have built and look forward to hearing their contributions to better sound.

Knauf 1000 pipe insulation? I made the same ones for my listening room. Yours look great and so do mine. Not hard to build at all plus saved thousands of dollars. I entered my system in "ever evolving" under DIY listening room. I don't have the caliber of equipment you have but the acoustic treatments made my mid-fi system sound high-fi. Nice set up! Your system is in the "stratosphere-fi" in a high-fi room...looks great amd must sound superb.

What a system! Hail to the King of Terestrians. Godspeed.

Very nice. I really like the room aesthetic/equipment placing as well as use of the treatments. Great job!

Chris - this is a very nice and unique system, with a healthy dash of personality. My only wish is having the privilege of listening to music through it.

On your web site, you observed that installing room treatments provided the most benefit in the overall system. I was wondering if you collected any before /after data for room response?

I am building Edgarhorns now. Reading about your system is making me impatient to finish the project! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks - I found the link already, and have been comparing it to another diy tube trap design that I found on the web - half circle design, that are mounted to the wall. Will let you know if I end up building these.

I experimented with diffuser panels and also built some DIY room lenses (hemholtz resonators) with good results. However, the tube traps are far more effective other room treatment that I have tried. I looked at John Risch's tube trap design and figured that it would probably deliver the same results but was much harder to build, and probably uglier.

I found this idea on the web. THere is a link to the site in the construction section.

Wow - its great to see the attention to detail you took in laying out the design of your room and equipment on the computer, then tweaking until you came up with what you have now. The tube traps are impressive - have you tried other DIY designs? How did you come up with yours?
Thanks
