It has taken me quite a while, but I am starting to get a decent system together. It does two channel quite well, which is my main goal, but from a HT perspective, it is more than adequate for my needs. The CS3.6's and the Enterprises really work well together, but I have one heck of a room, with a ton of bass suckout, so the DD-12 really helps level the playing field. The Rotel, while great in its price point, is admittedly my weak point, and hopefully will be upgraded in the near future. Similarly, the AR's don't fit in with the Thiels, and will likely be replaced by either two more SCS3's or PowerPoints.
System edited: ACE-515 has been removed, and I now have two dedicated AC lines (each with their own Ultimate Outlet) in addition to my existing shared line (which is now serving the TV and VCR with its own Ultimate Outlet).
Thanks a lot for the comments. I am, in fact, working on getting rid of the ACE-515 almost as we speak! I started running two new dedicated 20A AC lines on Monday, and will finish up on Friday. I have one line run with 12AWG Belden 83803 (for preamp/source) and line with 10AWG Romex for the power amps. I will be installing Porter Ports in the wall jacks, as well as replacing the existing wall outlet on the shared line with a Porter Port. This will power the TV and VCR. I had two custom 4-way boxes with in-line switches made up using 12AWG and 9AWG Belden wire, Porter Ports, and industrial 30A switches. I will have a 20A High Current Ultimate Outlet on the amp line, and standard Ultimate Outlets (with Porter Ports) on the new source/pre line and the existing line. So, that should just about take care of the AC issues! :^)
I am considering picking up a universal transport/player (CD, DVD, SACD). Depending on what I would get, I might run the digital signal to my RSP-1066 (which is what I am doing with the Denon and JVC right now).
Hi Tom, nice system. The only component that really stands out to me that could be holding you back is the Adcom power filter. I would rather see you put your money into a quality aftermarket power cord or used up to date power filter. The Denon would be next on my list of possible upgrades. A used Cal Audio might serve you well in that price range. Good luck.
