Although ludicrous, I have finally have my baby finished. My wife won't let me buy the Ferrari 360 Modena F1 I want, so I have stealthfully spent all the money on this beast. Little does she know I would have done better buying the car, because they finance those. It's taken quite awhile to get all together. I am finally happy now that the plasma and ML 40 media console arrived a week and half ago. It replaced a Meridian 861. I'm not sure if it can quite match the visceral experience of the beautiful redhead from Maranello, but it comes close. I guess the only drawback is the chicks don't dig it like they would the Ferrari!

Congrats to that dream realized! Whilst your gear are a couple ladders up my down-to-earth system, I just came back from Europe where I did some special tours to racing tracks, including the famous Nuernburgring in Germany, taming the curves with a good old BMW M5 and sprinting the straights with a race car version of the 911 Turbo. I strongly suggest to get that other experience once in a while, getting not just the vibes in and between your ears. The good part: it cost all less than a good preamp, maybe the cost of a speaker cable if you talk to the right people.
You, my friend, are my new role model. Although I do not aspire to acquire everything on your list of goodies, there are a lot of pieces that we do, or will, have in common. I haven't quite finished my system yet, but I think I've got a great head start. My gear:

I endeavor to create a world class home theater using an exceptionally uncomprimising two channel foundation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
That's quite a system. Have you considered selling the surround speakers, amps, pre/pro, and cabling and using the proceeds to purchase a slightly used Porsche 911? You just may yet be able to have your cake and eat it too. Just a thought.
Thanks Audiognut, It's great to validation from an obvious great mind like yourself! Come to think of it your right. It's much scarrier driving artwork than listening to it. I appreciate you keeping my head on straight-if it's possible to spend that much and still be considered to have a head! Much love.
Yeah, but you don't have to change the oil, get tune ups, worry about the valet parking attendant crashing it, or some jealous, young punk keying your paint job. You made the right investment. Besides, the sound of a Ferrari isn't all its cracked up to be.
