My first real system and definitely still evolving. I'm guessing the Solilquys are a weak link and considering the Reference 3a De Capos. In search of a better CDP. Haven't dabbled in AC yet.
IMHO AC upgrades are a must for getting your system to sing. The sonic benefits are NOT subtle, they are AMAZING. My first foray into this was the purchase of a P300 about a year ago...results were immediate and stunning...like going from a receiver to a high end amp. Recently, I added after market power cords throughout, installed a power port and Ultimate outlet, again with astonishing results. Take the plunge, it's worth it!
Audio Note speakers are a good value and sound wonderful with SET amplifiers. I use a pair of ANK/L speakers; 650/pr used in their original boxes. I love them with the Audio Note Conqueror amplifier.
Looks like a very cool 1st system! I just listened to a Cary 2A3 amp the other day and I'm now considering selling my beloved Air Tight amp to get one. As far as speakers go, look at Alon. Many models go great with low powered tube amps. Happy listening!
