Sorry for the delay. I have a trace sw4048. The noise is from the imf and the only way i got rid of it was to move my battery bank and inverter away from the house. It was even in the phone line. I use macintosh throughout now and would only change for tubes if they were efficient. Thanks

hey there, an off the grid person. so am I. I had inverter noise myself for years, even blew up a conrad johnson preamp, I didn't have to ay as my dealer knew about my power and stillthought I 'd be okay. Anyway, you don't say what type of inverter you have. is it a truely a pure sine wave? if not then you need to change inverters. I live in an area where many of us are off the grid so we all were trying to get rid of the noise with different approaches all of which ended in failure. I eventually purchased a pure sine wave exceltech . no noise and no need for power conditioner the other thing we all noticed was the macintoshes seem to handle punky inverters the best.
