Linnie01: I was fortunate enough to get the Berkeley DAC here on Audiogon so I did not pay 5K. But to answer your question, yes it is worth that and more (IMHO). I've had other good DACs before and its always a matter of personal taste. For me, it just provides a level of detail and musicality you don't get in most others. It may just be that it works well with my setup (Classe SSP-800 and MIT Cables). Either way, I love it. Seems like the Weiss Dac is getting some good pub and have heard folks argue that it sounds better. I can't afford one so I wouldn’t know. Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, it's definitely not the ideal place for the thermostat and I have to compensate with the temp setting. At some point I may move it but just living with it for now. Cheers

Beautiful looking setup, love the look of that center speaker. I noticed what looks to be your heating thermostat behind your flat panel TV, doesn't that screw up your home temp with it reading the heat from the equipment?
