Description

Updated 6/4/13. Rives L1 designed room---room done first before new speakers/amp were chosen.

Zus sound awesome---great resolution, dynamics, and efficiency for multiple amplifiers. I do find they need 20+ watts for best use in my larger room...

Installed a Brinkmann analog rig recently to move in a different direction.

I would ask where you are going after the YG’s?

daveyf

What did you go with after the ZUs?

dentdog

Looks great Keith, bet it sounds great too!

darTZeel powered Zu's, i'll bet a very nice combo.

Tboooe- I'm now in MDR in a smaller space, but you are welcome to hear the Dart sometime.

Pehare- they sound great and are well constructed. I'm not a cables guy, so good enough for me.

keithr

hello keith, nice rig! say what do you think of the wywires blue IC's?

pehare

Damn man. I have always wanted to listen to the Dartzeel integrated amp. I am the OC so maybe I need to invite myself up to your place for a listen! :)

tboooe

System is looking great Keith, I need to check out the synergy between the Dart and the Zu's.

What are you using for a cartridge?

System edited: Lots of changes in January 2014. Auditioned many amps and ultimately decided to step up to the DarTZeel and consolidate 5 boxes.

The Def4s and BADA are the stalwarts in my system- amps have been a PITA. I'm hearing the Dart 8550 this weekend- could be my final stop. If I continue to enjoy analog, a Brinkmann Bardo will be purchased next year. Power conditioner probably in the mix then as well.

Hope he enjoys the (significant) upgrade

My Friend Scott, who lives close by, is getting his new Def4 speakers today replacing his Def2. He had Zu wire them @ 32 Ohm for his Atma S-30 amp.

Let's see if the can out run my Pioneer S-2EX.

Rwanda- I found the Tri soft despite the seemingly great build quality.

Sweet system Keith.

lapierre

Keith,
Did you try out the TRI 845 integrated??/and if so could you share your experience? Especially with the Zu speakers..thanks
Robert

Nice Keith! Great looking room and system - job well done!

beautiful job with the tv. I had my electrician move every outlet so as not to be seen so my plasma was a picture on the wall with no outlet to distract. I also had them run the speaker cables below the molding. Again, no biggie. Not expensive and the finish product is lovely.

warrenh

Thanks for sharing your experience in your amp pursuits in the Zu thread. May I ask you about your Sophia audition/ordering practice? There website is really lacking in information. Did you audition before buying? Did your interaction with them inspire confidence? Finally, what is the tube complement? 206 driver, 6SN7 is probably the input? Others?

BTW...stunning room you have! Someday I'd like to be able to do a Rives room similar to yours.

Thanks,
Jordan

From your thread on WBF, I posted:

"can't image "Bon Iver" would win 2011 album of the year."

Guess I was right, but they did get best new artist and best alternative, so congrats.
