My HT and 2 channel room. Custom built in our basement with isolated
walls and ceiling. 16 X 23.5 with 2X10 walls with staggered studs and
double layered sheet rock alternating in placement and thickness,
dampening bettween the sheets. Exterior door and completely sealed
equipment cabinet access doors with storage. Insulated dedicated A/C
ducting, 8 dedicated 20 amp circuits.

5 channel power house to replace the Sunfire I have loved for years. More power and greater detail than the Sunfire, but not as warm. Works very well with the Usher Be 718 though.
I absolutelty love your setup! I am in the process of building my system now. I am about finished. My question is do you find the small monitor speakers provide enough sound for that room? I am assuming that crosseded over with a quality sub or subs (and you have one) will be the real difference. I would love a response since I would like to use a similar setup.
System edited: The wonderful Sunfire finally broke down after 16 years for continuous use. I have replaced it with a Earthquake Cinenova Grand and love the combination of this amp and the Usher Be 718. Noticeably more midrange punch and top end clarity, but much less warmth in the presentation. Still enjoying the room, but in serious need of a projector upgrade (working on the wife lol)
Just do a search on theater construction and noise isolation, there is tons of articals. I also used the Stereofile website to do the room dimensions so the modes are correct. http://blog.audiovideointeriors.com/howto/1106howto/
What can you guys suggest for amps for this system? I want to do monoblocks or maybe 3 monos and 1 stereo for the rear. Also the DVP9000 was just taken out by a brown out in this area, so I will be replacing it with the Denon 3800 blueray player, and probably an APC battery back up power conditioner.
Just bought all new balanced Tara Labs M1's to go with the Nuforce. Cannot believe the difference in noise floor and black backgrounds in music. The vocals on movies are also greatly improved with no loss of coherency.
Mark, oh, yes, in the first pic I can make out the marble. I wasn't expecting that color base on the stand. I looked at the middle pic and it's neigh unto impossible to see the marble bases. It really is a perfect match with the carpeting, and it seems the can lights hit at the perfect angle to obscure them. Very unusual, but as you say, cool looking.
My guess is that these won't be the last speakers we see in that spot. Just a hunch. :)
Thanks for the comments, if you look close in the first picture you will see that there are marble bases that pratically match the carpet in my room. I thought that was pretty cool looking in the photos also. The stands are from Usher also and are very heavy as you can imagine. They are height adjustable for about 4" and the side wood matches the Be-718's.

Looks like you thought things through thoroughly (ha, alliteration!)
Curious, what's the story with the stands for the Usher main speakers? Looks like they are mounted to the floor? I do not see a traditional stand but a "post" rising from the floor. Did you embed the post in the floor? What if you want to change mains at some point; is the post easily removed without damage to carpeting? I'm curious about your thought process in the development of the final outcome.
