I still have yet to decide on the cables for this system but this about does it. I'm not going to apply a DAC because I want the VK-D5 to play uninhibited, along with the Hovland's illustrius sound. The Veritone Minimum Phase Speakers would have a passive cross over therefore allowing the BAT amp to exemplify its muscle. The stallwart FF1's would literally speak of the hardware's synergy, perputually emitting wave after wave of sonic bliss. Basically this is a "statement" system you could enjoy for years and not feel as if you have to "catch up" with technology. If BAT, Hovland, or VMPS would display such a set up (so simple yet so captivating) at a show, they would be suprised how well received it would be. Yeah its expensive especially considering I haven't even got the cables (probably Audio Magic's Illusion IC & speaker wire) yet, but more than likely the last "2 channel" system you'll ever need.
Just saw the Hovland HP-100. The magazine photos don't do it justice! Those blue lights are to die for! Haven't heard it though. From sources I trust, this is a future classic! Consider Nordost SPM speaker cables and Quatrro-fil IC's! Happy tunes!
