Description

The Counterpoint amp is the crown jewel of this system. Modified by Mike Elliott, this amp when warmed up is lifelike, sweet, and powerful. Who needs 200 watts when 60 sound this good? The rear-ported Silverline are perfect for the 12x13 room and have surprising bass punch and a great midrange. The treble never spits unless the recording demands it. They also do well at high volumes. Recently added, the REL woofer provides any missing ambience and those low notes I was craving. The rest is strictly budget, but you wouldn't guess it if you were in the sweet spot. Long live high-end!

Very nice balanced system. What innerconnect do you use? If I were going to upgrade, I would consider upgrading the digital. Maybe to a nice all in one box CDP. Something used that sounds great. Lots of good gear can be bought used now at very reasonable prices. Maybe an Adcom 750 CDP? Or a Perpetual technologies P-3 with Modwright mods. Keith
