With the exception of the CAT preamp (replaced by the Levinson 26) and Theta Miles (Spectral SDR-1000), this system blew my mind back around 1989. Interconnects and cables were also different, but I feel that the pros at Lyric Hi Fi, in NYC, had it right!!! Since then it has been my goal to duplicate their system (once I've upgraded my transport, i.e. to the Levinson 31.5 or Spectral SDR-3000; and of course add an analog section comprised of a VPI/SME V/van den Hul setup). Afterwhich, I shall look forward to laboring with room treatment and accessories (I have the Merrill Stable Table), and enjoy the music. Please offer suggestions.
