Description

This is "Dream Stereo # 6"....Everything i've always wanted, again.. lol...Started off in 1988 with a Yamaha Receiver, CDP, and Tape Deck- don't recall the speaker brand... Speakers evolved over the years, but stayed within the Klipsch realm- loved em...which in turn, led to monster vision and huge surround sound.(Klipsch CF4's). That part of the journey was A LOT of fun...Get the family together, put on Jurassic Park and grab a kid's leg... :) no Jurassic Park at the moment, but can't wait for "Movie Night" to return to the palace....I really enjoy where i'm at now...The Eighth Nerve Adapt room treatments allow the stereo to continue to evolve and the Piega's to truly tell the story...

Thanks for stopping by...

    • Aloia 11.01
Used for it's transport- it's crazy good...As an all-in-one cdp, "thumbs up"
    • Scott Nixon Tube +
The Tube + is a pdif input non-oversampled "old school" tube buffered dac using low ESR caps. It has a passive switchable anti-sinc filter...This dac is very, very good, IMO...Seperate power supply is available and recommended. ($100)
    • Modded Denon 2910
I prefer my Scott Nixon Dac and the Aloia transport to the corresponding in this dvd player- it's not bad, but the Aloia is very good...the video portion of this player is excellent.
    • Mcintosh C2200
Vacuum tube stereo preamp...Very quiet...Warm, detailed and precise...A great match for the Mcintosh 402 amp...
    • Mcintosh Mc402 Amp
This is one big puppy with nice blue meters...400 watts x 2- will push anything, including Roseanne Barr, but i'm not sure why you would want to? :)
    • Piega C-10 Limited Speakers
Featuring the coaxial ribbon system and 4 smokin 8 inch drivers. Pretty efficient- 91 and 4 ohm. Relaxed, yet precise- effortless. They will transfer the music down to the smallest detail, fully reproducing the wound features of any cd...The bass is true to the recording...Seamless
    • Audience Au24
    excellent
    • Audience Au24 single wire
    I use these with the Au24 jumpers...nice.
    • Audience Au24
    excellent
    • Shunyata ...
    excellent
    • Mapleshade carpet piercing mega feet
30lbs of threaded brass footers...Nice...Very good couplers.
    • Arcici ...

    • Eighth Nerve Room Treatments Adapt
Quite interesting....The Adapts allow the room to come alive and for the fat lady to sing...IMO, treating the room is highly recommended...

thanks....she's a hotty, no doubt....the ps3 is with the current system, but is going to need a tweak in order to get the audio to flow more smoothly....hate to get a processor as i've not needed one yet....i'm going to be posting more pics soon...

knollbrent

Hey Brian,

Nice system. Also I love that painting of the woman. Very cool.

Are you using the PS3 with this system or a different one?

aball- no i live down here in good ole miami florida and purchased my stuff through a carolina boy...the mcintosh 402 and the 2200 tube amp do match VERY well with the piega's...i would love to hook up the 501's to these babies- that would be interesting...

knollbrent

Oh man, McIntosh on Piegas! I'd kill to hear that. Interesting you have Aloia too - do you happen to live in Virginia? There is a dealer that sells both Aloia and Piega here so I am curious.

glad you came down eric...it's always a good time getting together with friends in front of the stero...look forward to hearing your gear and getting some more feedback on my questions....

Brent is a cool gent. On a day where I was running on fumes, his energy and passion for this hobby made the jam session that much more enjoyable. The system sounded great, the Piega's and Mcintosh pieces sound great together and the associated gear has wonderful synergy. Adapt room treatments appear to be working their magic. Brent exposed me to some new music that showed off his system beautifully, especially noteworthy clarity and soundstage depth, images float very well in the room.

thanks chad- the system took a huge leap forward with the intro of the mcintosh 2200 tube pre- it's bringing everything together nicely..the adapt treatments are crazy good and have been an interesting part of the journey- never knew how important treating the room is...the little lady is good company... :)

knollbrent

Great looking system, and great job on your room treatments! Love the lady pic!

knollbrent

ops ..In my last post I ment to say ,, Hang the picture "over" the audio rack ..

stumpie

I see you got your pictures up. Man those speakers are nice looking !! I would love to hear them.. The whole system looks fantastic!
Ok ,, I have one suggestion ,, Move "the lady" picture under the audio rack ,, It will "sweeten" up the sound stage !! :) LOL ....

stumpie

I have heard those Piegas with Nagra in a Vinyl setup and they sounded awesome.
Nice setup and room.

I sure am Stumps, but i haven't figured out how to bring em over from my files...any suggestions...And yes, the Mac gets the Piega's chirping- they are very seamless...the bass is tight and not exaggerated- real... i love em. brent

knollbrent
