I like my system a lot but would describe it as being a little warm in the bass region. This is probably a lot of room interaction and a little from the VD cables. Very clean low noise with minimal tube rush from the preamp. I will be moving to a new home in the fall and will begin building a dedicated audio/HT room and will take room interaction into consideration at that time. Living in an apartment I can't spank the system so don't have any idea what it sounds like cranked. I've had it up to perhaps half volume or a little better and the system was only begining to warm up, kinda scared me - had thoughts of an eviction notice running through my head.
I listen to just about everything, metal, jazz, blues, punk, classical, rock. I am not fond of top 40 music.
