Description

Yes, still have difficulty going through the process of listening. Found myself enjoying MUSIC from my cheap transistor radio instead.

Components Toggle details

    • Sony SA-CD1
When i got rid of my analog rig, this appeard to be an answer. The format war hasn;t settled yet, leaving me wandering if the gamble was a wise choice.
    • Lamm Industries L-1
I opted for the best at the time. Since then, many others appeared, but Lamm is i think still holding ground?!
    • Plinius SA-100 mkIII
It is one of those amps that keep you surprising everytime you turn it on. I think it better Krells, ML's and McCormack in sheer musicality without the expense of detail and slam!
    • Dynaudio Contour 3.0
Now, there is a disappoitment! Inferior parts with superior ticket price. Reached expected performance(for the price) after the $350 x-over upgrade. If have to purchase them used ONLY!
    • Diy Siver 28g stranded inside Teflon
    Ok interconnects with balanced Neutrik
    • Diy stranded copper 99.999%
Another invention with cables, ripped damaged MIT 750

marco, in keeping with the spirit of this thread, my favorite insult: "You are a man every few admirable qualities, but taken as a whole, I was wrong to think so highly of you."

nrchy

Ok, so why did you spend the money?

So much about " pure and untainted " spending time at this machine. Lamm is good, but for the price. Sugden Masterclass if not better is just as good. I do not know if it is Plinius/Sugden match-up or what, but if you can audition Sugden. Just DO IT. Brit will sink the russian, just like their crusty sub. Sorry Komrade!

OK, so that means you'll be sending over your system to me. I'll start extracting my car stereo as soon as I return to the West Coast from a trip. Goinbroke obviously has an impeccable sense of taste and has seen the movie in question, Monty Pythons Holy Grail, on one too many occasions. Kkursula's mind remains pure and untainted by TV and movies. I myself have not watched television or subscribed to a newspaper, tabloid or news magazine for over five years now. I do listen to the BBC news once in a while. Love movies though....it was my minor in school.

Looking forward to installing your Lamm pre-amp into my system! Please pack it well and I will leave good feedback for you.

Best,

Marco

"little big man"? I give up! I should have tell you that i hate movies, and that i do not own TV. KUSC on the radio, is all i listen.

kkursula

Ok Marco, I won't help Kkursula as long as you promise not to "shoot arrows into the top of my head and make castanets out of my testicles, already. Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time."

goinbroke

OK I'll give Kkursula a chance not to have to send his precious Lamm to me and suffer the daily assault on the ears of the Eddie Bauer high-end stereo complete with loose speaker contacts. If you can guess which movie this line comes from you don't have to send me your system:

"I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!"

No assistance from the peanut gallery now! This one's just for the Unrefined Gentleman!!

In the car you can lock the doors so the kids can't get it! Plus how can you beat McDonalds drive through in the middle of a symphony?

elevick

I thought that line is from "Shaolin Soccer."

OK, where did this line come from, "I'll have some Chinese spare ribs..."

viggen

Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon (1973)........I'll forward the shipping address to you Kkursula!!

Marco

PS Yes, I did get it. I was just taking advantage of the amusing way you chose to express it. Plus I really thought there was a chance you would take me up on my offer.

"You insulted me and you insulted the members of the Shaolin temple...prepare to die". What movie is that from? You guess it right than, i will thik about your offer. Btw, you didn't get what i tried to say. Marco!

Tell you what I'll do; I've got a 1991 Ford Aerostar van that I use for my business. It has the Eddie Bauer deluxe options including the upgraded stereo package. You just send those nasty troublesome home stereo components my way and I will make the great sacrafice and yank that fine Ford stereo out of my mini-van and will even throw in the equalizer and deluxe speakers from the doors. I'll wire it up on a custom rack made from angle-irons from the Home Depot and send it on over to you so you can get that spine-tingling car-stereo effect right there in your own home listening room!!! Don't pass this offer up, cause I'm only going to make it this one time because you got me feeling really sorry for you for the suffering you are going through.

Marco

I can relate.
