serious DIYer! good luck with your MG-1..
the price is right and it looks like you've
addressed the oil-dampener feature that is
missing in ET-2. linear-tracking, air-bearing
tonearm is the way to go!

No shame intended. Uncompromising can be good in high-end audio, especially when you DIY.

System edited: System update. Add a DIY vinyl cleaner and 2 slide part for MG-1.Now I can enjoy each cartridge I have in 1 minute. Not only the arm but also I made a cleaner for my LP collection. Better performance cheaper price with some labor That's the way on audio I choiced.I would love to share them to everyone who agree with me.Just like the way I teach my child to "SHARE". To:Txp 1, Your words made me feel a little bit shame.I am not so much good as uncompromision. I paid around $20 for this scale (caliper) from the internet. And Got some cut from my friend (I don't have a metal cutter). And Yes It is. But It take times .

Very impressive that you have built your own tonearm! I wish I was as skilled. Where did you get your scale? Is it still available for approx. the price you paid? Thanks.

System edited: Update picture.describe on Dynavector 17D2 MK II. Ken thank you for you kindly words and invitation. You are 100% right on Dyna 17D2 MK II.The magic mid frequency. Deep clear and tight bass.In full range it all reproduce a lots of "air".Although it need some time to break in for it's Mid-high freq. And If possible I'd like to visit you sometime next month. If anyone interest in any DIY I done. Please don't hesitate to let me know.May Be I can help!!

Nice!! You seem to know something about audio! DIY is a great way to try out different approaches to getting the best sound from the system that you build to suit your tastes. I think you will really like the 17D2Mk II cart. I actually replaced my Koetsu Black with the 17D2 Mk II. It is fast and agile and really performs fantasticly.

Im over in Alpharetta just next town over,if you ever want to say hello and do some listening. I remember calling you to buy some nice JAN tubes awhile back. Happy listening!--Ken :)

Look's real interesting, but could you please explain how you've setup the system up. Love the fact that you've built your own tonearm.

Thank you for your comment. But I still got some problem with this sub. As you know. mags need some extra low frequency. Therefore I add a Infinity IL 120 into my system. But Yes, I got some extra low frequency but the worse things happened.I had lose my best part at mid and mid high. This sub cut my frequentcy out from 300hz till ...khz.That's why I only use for movies.I am going to upgrade my speaker to genesis II or infinity Beta for serious low frequency or build paired of bass tower for maggies. Is there anything I can help.Let me know.

carollin

Killer system. I love the sound of maggies. I've owned a Sota Saphire for years. I'll bet the sub helps out too. Smart move to have a spare amp. With two turntables, I'll bet you have a huge vinyl collection.
Happy Listening!
Let me know if you'd like to talk sometime.
