As you can see I am A big fan of Legacy Audio. I have been working on my system for over ten years and I hope that with your comments you can make it even better. Thank you
Thanks for your positive feedback. I live in Springfield Il. the Home of Legacy Audio and I visit their showroom alot. It is a great company and very friendly and helpful. Thanks again for your comments and suggestions
I admire your Victoria's. I hope your still using them. I've visited the Legacy factory 2X & met the owner each time. I also got a sweet tour of the facility. I myself have the new Studio HD's & the Cinema HD. I also have 2 pairs of the mini-monitors. One in pr white oak & the other pr in Rosewood. Anyway, I bet that system of your rocks. I found in my rig that Kimber PBJ's & Signal Cable speaker wire was the best for my Legacy's & amps. I put a Channel Islands XDC-2 in line AC filter for my pre-amp & digital source & it made a huge difference in noise reduction. Made the pre-amp really stand out for better depth & stereo seperation as well. Pat
System edited: Upgraded my Bluray Player from a Sony(BDPS500) to a Pioneer (BDP-51FD). I had alot of problems with the Sony Would not suggest you get one.
System edited: I have upgraded many things on my System. The first thing is that I purchased a Plasma tv and a blu-ray player. I also upgraded my power conditioner and replaced some speaker cables (APEX ) and inter connects (Accoustic Wow and Cardas Gold). Please leave feedback if you like the new look.
Glad to see another hard-core Legacy fan (check out my system). Like Chad, I'd say get the Focus on spikes or better yet remove the inexpensive plastic rails and spikes altogether and put them up on Black Diamond Racking Jumbo Super Pucks (4 per speaker). I found this made a very nice improvement for my Focus 20/20's and am about to take the rails off my new Focus HD's.
Another massive sound improvement I found is when I went to shotgun biwire with the Focus 20/20's and later the HDs. This is true even without bi-amping. The Foci seem to really love having alot of good quality copper driving them and having separate lines running in for bass vs mid/treble once you take off the factory-supplied copper straps between the terminals.
The cables do makes a big difference in sound quality and the new power cords for my mono amps have also made a big difference. Thanks for asking, I'm still looking for some room treatments.
Well why dont you try usedcables.com they will take your gear into consideration advise you on options, you give them a deposit and they will send you several cables to try, then you simply send back the ones you dont like. I can say with confidence that Audioquest sounds fantastic it wasnt even close compared to his MIT cables he replaced. Corner treatments behind your speakers and up in the corners will help, even a heavy blanket over top your TV to cover its face when you listen to music may surprise you of how effective it is. Email me if you ever want to talk.
Hey Chad, Thanks for taking the time to give suggestions about my system. I do have the spike under my legacy 20/20's. I have been looking for some better cables for my system but, in the town I live all I have is the Super Stores. As for the angles of my speakers, my room is very narrow. My room only measures a little more than 9 feet. If you have any other suggestions on cable that aren't really expensive, please let me know. Thanks again
Hey Allan. My dad has the Focus 20/20 and I cant tell if yours have the spikes under them but if they dont then get them!, it really made a nice improovement, the other suggestion is that Audioquest cables (Panther, Mont Blac) sound stunning with his speakers (Esoteric DV-60 and Audio Research SP16 Tube pre, Classe amps bridged). Taking out the angles of your walls in the corners behind your speakers will really help, I dont know if you can, but adding space behind speakers is always better, but I am sure you know this. We all know there are better speakers out there but I really think Legacy is a true value for what you get at its price point, I am sure that your rig sounds fantastic.
