UPdates:
Squeezebox changed to a Touch model

Classe integrated amp replaced with an Ayre AX7e integrated. Very noticeable positive difference in overall musicality, bass, clarity of vocals.

Acoustic Zen balanced interconnect between W4S Dac 2 and Ayre.

Next and maybe last update to reach retirement system - maybe a set of Avalon Idea speakers?

Very nice clean system. I like your choices. The Aerials are one of the best bargains I see regularly on audiogon. Same goes for the W4S dac. Wish I could come over and listen. : )

Nice that you get to enjoy music with your doggie. Mine? Not so much. If I turn it up she gets up and trots down the hall to the bedroom.

Nothing too much in the works right now Lapierre! Just enjoying the music. One of those Wyred 4 Sound music servers might be nice in the future.

Well done!

What's next on the HiFi roadmap?

Thanks, we are all loving it, including the dog who seems to favour Melody Gardot and like jazz singers! Adding power cords and dedicated lines has really opened up this system.

Nice system, woof, woof!

I've decided to leave the analog world in favor of a PC based system built around the Wyred DAC, and I'm wondering if I should keep my preamp. Your observations will be much appreciated!

Nope, have not got around to this yet. Something I have not done before either. Classe has a button that separates the amp/preamp so I'll have to do that and give a listen. I'll let you know.

Dear Audiowoman,
Have you tried bypassing your preamp section using only the volume control of your DAC? If so, how does the sound compare?

Thanks!

Ah well it left many years ago when I moved and had little space for it. Had a Dual 510, with Shure M95ED cartridge - my first REAL stereo, which included Yamaha 6 receiver and large Advent utility speakers. I actually sold that turntable 15 years later for about the same price I paid for it back in the 70's.
Gave all my albums to a friend who had a Linn Basik turntable. It crosses my mind occasionally, but no space for the albums currently and none as I think about retiring and downsizing more in a few years. Given more space, I sure could see a cute little red REGA p3 being a nice addition.
