Description

I have swapped several components and amps since last year, all in the quest of obtaining the most satisfying sound. I used to run these Gershman monitor+sub combinations and also the SF Power 2 to power them, but in the latest incarnation, I have opted to go High Efficiency/Full range and a more sophisticated sound (not that the STEREOPHILE RATED CLASS A rated SF POWER 2 are bad, but not quite as linear in the lows department.) It took 3 days and two people working together with power tools to put together the VOIGT PIPE speaker, a design easily found in the net. Chose to use a pair of the popular FOSTEX 208 SIGMA fullrange drivers instead of LOWTHERS. The sound and the articulation is the finest I have heard so far in my audio experience....Of course, there is not too much gut wrenching lows as with the Gershman subs, nevertheless, there is a "rightness" that even non audiophiles can discern from the start. All in all, it is the best set up I have heard...and I will be getting a SET-300B amp next week, lets see how will that add to the already deadly combination.
