Description

I have been happy with the ARC gear for 40 or so years. Glad to have found an old love...the KLH NInes.

Lance,

I haven't visited this site for a while.  Yes David Janzen is rebuilding/upgrading the Nines.  Mine are the original ones.  My room is about 25 feet X 20 feet, but is opened to another room.  One needs a larger room for double Nines to be appreciated, but I have to do with what I have.  They are about three feet from the side walls.

Double KLH 9's was THE speaker system to own in the early 70's. They (along with the original Quad) were J. Gordon Holt's reference speaker, and were Bill Johnson's speaker of choice, until he heard the original Magneplanar Tympani T-I. An SP-1C, D-75, and D-51---now that's about as classic as they come! The only rival would be a Marantz 7c and pair of Model 9's.

Kisawyer, I see that David Janszen is rebuilding/upgrading the KLH nines. Are yours the original, unmodded version? I have the Janszen zA2.1's but am fascinated with the KLH nines. How big is your room? How far from are they from the wall?

Kisawyer is pretty much closed, isn't it?

I sold KLH Nine speakers many years ago. We had ours on Mac 275 and the sound was great.

I only wish they had not sold so quick, I only got to hear them for a week before someone came in, fell in love and bought them.
