Description

System involves me, when I listen to my redbook cds. My many " SOTA " recordings, such as those from labels Tonian to Sheffield to Reference, to my HDCD collection ( etc. ) are all uncanny. But the important thing for me, as I state ad nauseam is, I " connect " with the musicians, and get immersed in their playing and performing. Enjoy !

Components Toggle details

    • Klipsch Heritage model Lascala
    Several mods and tweaks.
    • Sony DVP-NS900V Used as a cd transport. I have 2...one coax and one optical into the dac
    Modified in several areas.
    • Luminous Audio Axiom II Passive Preamp Walker Mod with remote, 3 in 2 out, single ended.
TOTL unit. Quiet as a mouse.
    • Adcom GDA-700 D/A converter
Modified in a number of ways. This tells the story of what is on the disc. The power supply and the analog output stage are magnificent ( imo ), and drives every power amp I have tried ( through the Luminous ), easily and effortlessly.
    • Edge Audio M 8 Original Black
Edge M8 Original Black, before the start of Maker Audio. This amp suites me in ways no other amplifier does, paired with my other component parts.
    • Morrow Audio MA6 interconnect, from dac to Luminous, from Luminous to amp.
Based on what I have tried in my own system, I have to say, these are quite neutral. The break in time for these is ridiculous, but my system is always powered, with fm radio playing, unless I am listening to cds ( streaming in the near future ). I build my power cables and speaker cables.

Jaxwired, thank you for the comments. My cabinet mods were with the help of the late Jim Thiel, many years ago, who knew a thing or two about cabinet resonance and vibration.

Ahh, my favorite of the classic Klipsch speakers, La Scala. I owned the Chorus about 22 years ago. Very nice indeed!
